Lucy Kim (Jason's "Lucky Little Girl") |
Jason J. Milholin (Lucy's Loyal Advocate) |
A month ago, little Lucy celebrated her 3rd birthday. I encouraged friends and family to send her "Happy Birthday wishes", and said that I would print them and tuck them away to share with her once she's home.
A close friend of ours, Jason Milholin wrote (and I printed) a simple 4 word phrase - "Bring her home already!" I knew then that he was excited for her to get home so that he could meet her. Since her birthday is on the 17th (which happens to be his favorite number!) - he started referring to Lucy as his "lucky little girl." He supported each of the adoption fundraisers we have had and encouraged others to "help her home!"
On April 8th, 2013 this special friend and one of Lucy's cheerleaders suddenly, without warning left his earthly home. Jason's "lucky little girl" will never get to meet him on this side of heaven! (Still struggling with that incredibly sad thought).
Knowing Jason's love for children and most recently his advocacy in helping to get Lucy Kim home, Jason's parents wanted to help Ja with those efforts. In honoring his memory and in love, they had asked that others that wish to make a donation in Jason's memory, make them to Lucy's adoption fund at Lifesong for Orphans.
A life that has been taken from us will forever be connected to a little life that will be brought home to us! Jason's "lucky little girl" will be connected by the invisible red thread! And as my youngest son has reminded me "Mom, Jason will meet Lucy in heaven someday!"
